LINEO ANNOUNCES ALLIANCE WITH KYOTO MICRO COMPUTER

TOKYO, March 30 - Lineo Solutions, Inc. ("Lineo", Headquarters/Engineering Center: Shiojiri, Nagano, Japan, CEO&President: Yoshinobu Ushiyama), a leading provider of embedded Linux solutions, today announced an alliance with Kyoto Micro Computer Co., Ltd. ("KMC", Headquarters: Kyoto, Japan, President: Shoichi Yamamoto). According to the alliance, Lineo releases the embedded Linux development environment that works with the "PARTNER-Jet", KMC's JTAG ICE debugger, in late April.

	Linux Kernel/Application Debugging
		PARTNER-Jet provides unique and strong Linux debugging functions---it can hardware-debug with ICE, not only kernel but also all the program operates on Linux, including applications executed in virtual space. Just by adopting Lineo uLinux ELITE/BSP, the most efficient debugging environment with high-powered debugging functions as above becomes available.
	Free from Patches/Basic Operation Check
		By using already-patched package, the user gains release from patch application or operation check arising from differences in Linux kernel or library versions, etc.
	Realtime Extended Debugging
		Realtime extended debugging function exclusively for uLinux will be available. Debugging while system-in-operation is one of the major features of uLinux. With PARTNER-Jet's fast I/F, it will be even smoother. With a special display style, it becomes easier to check interrupt occurrence/response processing status or its time measurement, and performance status including each Realtime thread's CPU occupying time. The uLinux together with PARTNER-Jet's original source debugging function, debuggable factors and items will be greatly expanded.
