LINEO RELEASES LINEO uLINUX CE EDITION BSP
FOR RENESAS'S LATEST BOARD
- RENESAS MS7760CP01P -

TOKYO, March 23 - Lineo Solutions, Inc. (Lineo), a leading provider of embedded Linux solutions, today announced the release of Lineo uLinux Consumer Electronics Edition (CE Edition) Board Support Package (BSP) for the MS7760CP01P audio board (tentatively called) of Renesas Technology Sales Co., Ltd.

Akira Kobayashi, Executive Director, Engineering, Lineo Solutions, Inc. said, "Renesas Technology's MS7760CP01P audio board (SH-4: SH7760, Shipping time: Late April) provides liquid crystal panel (for touchscreen), key input, sound input-output etc., thus it can widely be utilized for various products including handy terminals, POS, embedded devices for industrial use. Also, by adding IDE extension board or LAN extension board, the MS7760CP01P audio board will become available for HDD devices or Ethernet connecting devices. Lineo uLinux CE Edition not only provides the best embedded Linux for this board, but also provides Lineo's proprietary Hard Realtime, which is ideal for use in the devices that require micro-second-level Realtime performance."

After joining the CE Linux Forum (CELF) in November 2003, Lineo has been heavily involved in its activities by contributing Linux kernel patches for i386, SH-4 (Renesas Technology's evaluation board for SH7751R) and more. Lineo plans to contribute the Linux kernel for SH7760 as well shortly.
