TOKYO, February 24, 2003 -Lineo Solutions, Inc., former Lineo Japan, Inc.---Japanese subsidiary of former Embedix, Inc.---today announced that it has changed the company name and continues embedded Linux business with the 'Lineo' brand.
" Lineo Japan, Inc. was MBO-ed from Embedix, Inc. last December by managements and employees of Lineo Japan, Inc.," says Yoshinobu (Yogi) Ushiyama, CEO, Lineo Solutions, Inc. "Our continuous embedded Linux business is a natural extension of former Lineo Japan's track records considering our strong presence and wide acceptance among major OEMs in Japan, the largest of our industry market segment in the world. We were instrumental in actually delivering Lineo solutions to many Chip Vendors' and OEMs' platforms with ARM, SH, MIPS, and PPC architectures for the past two and a half years including Sharp's Zurus PDAs. Lineo Soltions knows what is expected of embedded Linux by OEMs in realizing Ubiquitous Age.

Lineo Solutions, Inc. is now preparing to announce its own embedded Linux and cross-development environment products, including an edition aimed at the Consumer Electronics OEM market, as early as in March 2003. "Code Size, Power-Saving, Real-Time, implementation framework, etc., etc., there are many critical engineering issues to be seriously solved before OEMs to adopt Linux to their variety of products and to place the products in the marketplace," says Tatsuya Takeuchi, CTO, Lineo Solutions, Inc.
